Evolution occurs when environmental factors cause natural selection and then genetic drift to occur.
The concept feels very strange that we over a long period of time evolved from a single celled organisms into complex multicellular organisms.
Have we seen this process happen in other species?

I added words that I left out that I felt were essential and important parts of the theory of evolution.

Do you think that scientific research and discovery might be in conflict with some values and ideals of the 1920's? Why or why not? Provide evidence from today's activities to support your response.
Yes traditionalists often held Fundamentalist Christian views and interpreted the Bible literally so they would be
in conflict with some scientific views.

1. Identify parallels between this topic and conflicts/events that are going on today.SB 1070
2. Make an argument for or against the theory of Evolution supporting your argument.Yes schools should teach evolution because it is the currently accepted scientific theory.

Day 2 Objectives:

Students will be Able to:
1.
Explain the controversy of teaching evolution in schools
2. Identify the different views about teaching evolution in schools
3. Evaluate the impact of the Scopes trial in America
